Ref the Ryder cup history. Someone mentioned the Rough Cut Podcast and I completely agree- their podcast this week is great and explains the evolution of the Ryder cup. In the early days when it was USA vs GB&I, the Brits were really affected by the wars (golf courses were plowed to prevent German aircraft landing on fairways) and the golf pros were not well paid and all worked at golf courses as club pros rather than being full time tour pros until quite late (can't recall if they said 60s or 70s). Anyway, it's a good listen for anyone interested.

Also, Peter Finch released a video today playing the Worcester CC, in Worcester MA, the venue for the first ever Ryder Cup.

Ignore the link in the video description, as that takes you to the Worcester CC in England (which funnily enough is where I played a county schoolboy championships when I was in my late teens!).

Even though I told on myself for not knowing much about Ryder Cups this was really cool!

@Coulter - Thanks so much for hosting! I was buried at work and completely blanked on the call - I'm still not used to it being on Wednesdays, lol.

I'm definitely going to need to get a recap on the "lust and gluttony" section, lol.

We had a discussion on what kind of psychopath cuts a box open like this:

Later, I realized that you took a golf club shipping box, lopped one end off, and kept one flap to seal the box. Rather genius. Someone may have referred to you as a "window licker" based on their initial take on the box construction.

But it's great, thank you! Can't wait to put it to use.

We definitely missed Jaime running the call (he’s a pro) but in his stead we still managed to have a really good call.
