Chuck, thank you for this post because I was looking all over for the link and once I saw this it solved my problem. You sir are a scholar and a gentleman.

I really enjoyed the call this evening and could just feel the excitement in this new endeavor.

Well...wasn't able to join, but I completely rocked my first two matches of the tournament so I'll call that a win!

Life At The Turn – Weekly Call Recap (Aug 27, 2025)

Last night’s call was another great mix of community updates, behind-the-scenes progress, and plenty of laughs. If you weren’t able to make it, here’s everything you need to know.

Community and Membership Updates
Jamie shared that lifetime memberships will stay open until Tuesday, with one final email push going out on Sunday. As of now, we’re sitting at 40 lifetime members. While the original goal was closer to 150, the team is still thrilled with the early response, especially considering the soft rollout. The focus remains on building something strong and sustainable rather than rushing growth.

Once lifetime signups close, monthly and yearly memberships will roll out. All paying members will have access to ad-free themes, while the default theme will carry ads to help with program setup. Jamie asked members to occasionally click over to that theme to help generate some early activity for ad recognition. This is key for long term success as the first 60 days of ads are telling for how things progress into the future.

Partnerships and Brand Involvement
The team has reached out to several potential partners, including Vortex Rangefinders, Ghost Golf, Red Rooster, Galway Bay, Avalon, Hackmotion, and Shot Scope. The goal is to spotlight quality brands that fit the Life At The Turn ethos. Club companies like Sub70 and New Level are also on the radar for the near future.

Casey from Cleveland Golf is confirmed for a live Q&A on September 8, and the team expects Cleveland to become a close partner moving forward. Partner communities (brand-specific sub-forums) are in the works, with the first ones expected to launch around mid-October.

Events, Trips, and Experiences
The Sand Valley trip in May was a big topic. The crew going have already started ranking predictions for who will finish where, including the all-important DFL slot. Expect plenty of playful banter and even the possibility of fake betting on results with forum coins. The plan is to bring a photographer/videographer along to capture the trip and share content with the community.

Beyond Sand Valley, the team is working on securing unique golf experiences.

Content and Engagement
Bogey Ball Society will be a central feature, with recap articles and teaser pieces tied to their podcast. Hayes asked members to share feedback and content ideas, either via DM or in forum threads, so the platform can be shaped around what the community wants.

More giveaways are coming, too. A surprise lifetime member won the first pair of FootJoy shoes from the lifetime sign-up form, and more random prizes for lifetime members are on the way. Virtual tournaments may happen down the road, but the team wants to avoid duplicating what’s happening elsewhere. Instead, they’re exploring sponsor-supported competitions that could even tie into official handicaps through PGA connections. Bag tags, custom emojis, and other fun member perks are also on the horizon.

Technical and Site Updates
Several forum features were discussed, including photo uploads, member albums, and custom themes. Ads will only appear on the default theme, while lifers and paid members can choose from multiple ad-free options. Themes like Ryder Cup, Masters, and others are being designed to keep things fresh. The “About You” section on profiles will be expanded so members can get to know each other on a more personal level.

Other Highlights and Lighter Moments

• Plenty of Ryder Cup talk, including Keegan Bradley’s decision not to pick himself.

• Jokes about “DFL rankings” for the Sand Valley trip (Jason caught a few strays).

• The idea of sabotage rounds and sarcastic emoji reactions brought plenty of laughs.

• Jamie mentioned his own recent tournament where a double bogey on 18 cost him a win—but his handicap did drop to 7.3.

Takeaway
The call reinforced just how much momentum Life At The Turn is building. Between brand partnerships, unique golf experiences, Sand Valley planning, and ongoing community growth, there’s a lot to be excited about. The heart of it all remains the same: building a fun, inclusive space where golfers feel connected, supported, and involved.

I think it’s good that we have that fun, relaxed vibe throughout the site and helps make it what it is. It helps that we are all like minded and have a very similar vision of how we envisage the site developing.
